Phoenix, Ariz. — The Arizona Corporation Commission will implement a new identity‑verification requirement for customers using the Arizona Business Center (“ABC”) online filing portal beginning July 20, 2026. This security measure is designed to prevent fraudulent business filings and protect Arizona business owners from unauthorized activity.
New Users: Online users will be required to provide a form of government‑issued identification when registering online for the first time.
Existing Users: Current ABC account holders will be prompted to “verify” by providing a form of government-issued identification the first time they log into their online account on or after July 20th.
Acceptable forms of ID include:
The identity‑verification step was designed with efficiency and ease of use in mind, and most users will complete it in just a couple of minutes. While it adds a brief step to the registration process, the Commission emphasizes that the increased security and protection far outweigh the effort. Once the ID has been verified, you will not need to verify that account again.
Since the launch of Arizona Business Center in January 2026, the Commission has already seen a decline in unauthorized business filing and identity‑fraud complaints. The new verification requirement builds on that progress by adding a modern, secure safeguard that helps confirm only verified users can file or modify business records.
Additional security measures will also be introduced in the coming months. The LLC Attestation of Existence will help identify dormant or non-operational LLCs and assist owners in securing or properly closing their business. The LLC Signing Authority Form will provide LLC owners with a strong tool to formally designate individuals who are authorized to file on behalf of their business, reducing confusion and helping prevent unauthorized submissions.
