TOPIC: Consumer Information Advisory Panel Meeting
MATTERS DISCUSSED:
Jennifer Donlon, Commission Staff, opened the meeting welcoming the Panel Members. Staff and Panel were introduced.
Connie Walczak presented the Electric Competition Power Point Slide Show for Residential Consumers.
  • Panel members offered suggestions for improving the clarity of the Presentation including the following:

* Emphasize why deregulation is being implemented
* Reinforce that your current utility will continue to deliver power to your home (possibly include graphic showing distribution to a home)
* Increased focus on, and explanation of, environmental options/conservation issues Incorporating a picture of the Western Grid

  • Panel members discussed where the ACC is planning to give this Presentation:

* Panel members suggested that a representative from the local Utility Company attend these Presentations to answer questions specific to their Company
* Staff advised the Panel that a specific plan of action will be developed with the Consultant.
* Staff requested that we expedite our next meeting date to allow the Consultant to familiarize himself with the Consumer Information Advisory Panel and the work being done, as soon as possible

The next meeting of the Consumer Information Advisory Panel is scheduled for Friday, October 27, 2000, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Pipeline Safety Conference Room 1200 West Washington, Phoenix, Arizona. The agenda and any related materials will be sent to all Panel members prior to the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
