Upcoming System Improvements and Service Interruptions
The Information Technology Division is constantly working to keep its systems up to date and problem-free. Currently, the Corporation Commission is modifying its network infrastructure systems to utilize existing resources more efficiently and effectively.
During the course of this project, significant portions of the network infrastructure will migrate from a physical server environment to use virtual server technologies. The key benefits we expect from this project are as follows:
- Reduced overall server management costs
- Reduced power and energy usage in our data center
- Improved response when server fail or experience problems
- Improved disaster recovery capabilities
Through the course of this project, we have scheduled a series of service outages through the end of 2010. All scheduled outages will occur from 5:30pm until 12:00am (midnight) of the date listed. During these scheduled outages many if not all of our network services may be unavailable.
At this time, we expect some type of outage on the date listed. For more complete information on the specific outage, check back on this website within a week of the scheduled date.
